Life cripples in downtown Srinagar against attack on Mirwaiz's house

Srinagar, Jan 15 (UNI) Life was crippled in the downtown city here when agitated people took to streets in protest against the grenade attack on the residence of Hurriyat Conference (HC) Chairman Mirwaiz Moulvi Farooq at Nigeen this morning.

Shops and business establishments in the downtown, a stronghold of the Mirwaiz, were closed after the news of the attack spread in the area.

Youths at Rajouri Kadal took to streets demanding arrest of those behind the attack. They blocked traffic and burnt tyres.

Traffic was also diverted to other routes.

However, life in other parts of the city remained normal.
