Dacoits murder watchman, flee with cash and jewellery in Gujarat

Surat, Jan 15 (UNI) Unidentified miscreants looted cash and jewellery worth Rs three lakh from the bungalow of a businessman in this diamond city after murdering its watchman.

The dacoits allegedly trespassed into the bungalow of Mr Ashok Sawani, at the posh Parle Point area, in the wee hours and stabbed the watchman to death.

Before decamping with cash and valuables, the looters also attacked Mr Mawani and his wife as they tried to foil the dacoity, police said.

Further investigations are in progress, they added.
