Amar Singh reaches Ujjain amid speculations of arrival of Bachchans

Ujjain, Jan 15 (UNI) Amid news of engagement of former Miss World and Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai to actor Abhishek Bachchan, son of mega super star Amitabh Bachchan, a close family friend of Bachchan family and Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh reached here this afternoon.

Following the confirmation of much-hyped engagement from both the families, it was being speculated that Big B and his family could visit famous Mahakaleshwar temple here along with Aishwarya and take blessings from Saint Mauni Baba.

Though it was not clear when the Bachchan family was arriving, Mr Singh reached here along with his wife and two children.

After reaching the airport, Mr Singh drove straight for Mauni Baba's ashram to take part in the 'Shatakshri Anushthan'.

According to ashram sources, the 'Shatakshri Anushthan' had started on 'Makar Sankranti' last year and would complete with 'Purnahuti' today.

It was being said that the aim of the 'Shatakshri Anushthan' was the welfare of the nation and public. It was also being seen in the context of upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh and the wish for the SP's victory in it.

On November 27, the Bachchan family visited Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi, while Amitabh, his wife Jaya and son Abhishek walked 15 km on foot to have a 'darshan' at Siddhi Vinayak temple in Mumbai.

As a part of the religious ritual being performed by the Bachchan family to ward off hurdles caused by astrological signs of Aishwarya, it was being believed that the family was planning a visit to the Mahakaleshwar temple.

Besides, famous 'Mangalnath' temple -- where devotees from several parts of the country reach here eliminating 'Mangal Dosh' was in Ujjain.

It was being understood that Mr Singh had suggested the Bachchan family to perform worship in Ujjain and take blessings from Mauni Baba.
