X-Treme, Civic rule the road: say Car

New Delhi, Jan 14 (UNI) Hero Honda CBZ X-Treme and Honda Civic have been adjudged the best bike and the best car of 2006 at the annual 'NDTV Profit Car and Bike India Awards' this year.

Honda Civic and TVS Apache won the Viewers' Choice awards while the honour for the Best Marketing Team went to General Motors.

For his contribution to the Indian automobile industry, Mr Anand Mahindra has been awarded the 'NDTV Profit Car and Bike Automobile Man of the Year'.

''I am happy to receive the award from NDTV and I dedicate this award to the entire Mahindra team,'' said Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) Vice Chairman and Managing Director Anand Mahindra, on getting the award.

Speaking on the occasion, Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI) President and CEO M Takedagawa said, ''Civic has done us proud across the world with its style, technology and its ability to adapt ongoing innovation and its heartening to know it's the same for India.'' Hero Honda MD Pawan Munjal, while accepting the Bike of the year for CBZ X-Treme said, ''This award is a tribute to Hero Honda and all in the Hero Honda family.'' The second edition of 'CNB-AAA Awards 2007', in association with Car India and Bike India was witnessed by the nation's top professional corporate honchos from the auto industry.

The event was presented across 30 different categories at a special awards ceremony at Mumbai.

CNB-AAA Awards are the automobile industry's one of the most credible awards being presented every year by NDTV, in association with Car India and Bike India magazine team.
