UPA responsible for price rise : Mahajan

Jabalpur, Jan 14 (UNI) BJP Vice-President Sumitra Mahajan today held the UPA Government responsible for ''rising prices'' that has crushed the common man.

''Whenever the Congress comes to power, prices in the country touche sky,'' Ms Mahajan told reporters here.

She alleged that the Congress, which was voted into power by the agrarian sector, was formulating anti-farmer policies.

Ms Mahajan said the Congress had left the common man to bear the burden while it was busy making efforts to remain in power.

Attacking the Congress for not being able to renounce politics of appeasement in the past 50 years, she said it was hurting the nation by providing reservation to minorities.

The BJP leader said the UPA Government should have taken straight forward decision regarding death sentence to Parliament Attack mastermind Afzal Guru.

On the contrary, some Congress Chief Ministers appealed for granting clemency to Afzal.

She added that the BJP Mahila Morcha and the BJP Yuva Morcha would launch a campaign for the Centre's anti-farmer and anti-labourer policies.
