Two killed, one seriously injured in exchange of fire

Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, Jan 14 (UNI) Two people were killed while one received serious bullet injuries when two groups clashed and fired at each other at Kodavasal area at Panchanadhi pond in Tiruvarur district today.

Police said the accident occurred when the two warring groups fought against each other a fierce pitched gun battle.

The deceased were identified as Senthil, who died on the spot and Tamil Arasan, who succumbed to his injuries on way to the hospital.

The injured Muthukumar was admitted to Thanjavur Medical College hospital here.

A case has been registered and the incident was being investigated, the police added.
