Several children injured in bus accident

Barrackpore, Jan 14 (UNI) Several children sustained major injuries in a bus accident near a bridge at the Megacity under Rajarhat police station in North 24 Parganas today.

At least four children were seriously injured and rushed to a private nursing home at Baguiati near here.

However, police have not yet confirmed the total number of people injured in the accident.

A few enraged locals allegedly set fire to the New Town police camp when police tried to remove a blockade raided by the agitating people following the accident.

The police then resorted to lathicharge to disperse the unruly mob, a police source said.

Police have been investigating the matter to ascertain the cause of the accident.
