Man hacks to death his wife and mother-in-law

Hubli, Jan 14 (UNI) In a bizarre incident a man allegedly hacked to death his wife and mother-in-law at Sortur village of Gadag district last night.

According to police, Basavaraj Hugar (38) in a drunken stage hacked his wife Meenaxi (32) with an iron rod after she refused to go to his house. His mother-in-law Shantawwa (60) who tried to save her daughter was also assaulted by him.

While, Meenaxi died on the spot, Shantawwa succumbed to injuries in the district hospital.

Mulgund police registered a double murder case and arrested Basavaraj.
