Kozhikode emerges champions in youth festival

Kannur, Jan 14 (UNI) Kozhikode district emerged the overall champions, by a narrow margin, with 635 points and defending champion Palakkad with 634 points bagged the second place in the 47th Kerala State School Youth Festival which concluded here this evening.

Ernakulam district with 600 points was placed in the third place.

State Education Minister M A Baby presented 117 soverign trophies to the winners. Giving away the awards, he said the government would introduce scholarship to the students of poor families to participate in the school festivals.

Health Minister P K Sreemathy was also present.

About 5,000 students from all the 14 districts participated in the five-day event.
