Investors' Meet 2007 in Khajuraho
Bhopal, Jan 14 (UNI) With the objective of encouraging non-resident Indians to invest in Madhya Pradesh, a three-day Investors' Meet 2007 -- organised by the state government -- gets underway tomorrow at the world-renowned tourist destination Khajuraho, official sources said.
The event, which is the first of its kind in terms of sheer scale, is expected to witness participation by more than 100 NRIs based in the United States, Canada, Dubai, Singapore etc besides representatives of Reliance, Essar, Jindal and other industrial groups.
Eighty-nine participants have already confirmed their presence.
The government is hoping that the investment proposals would exceed Rs 15,000 crore. There is a likelihood of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) being signed with major energy companies for setting up coal-based thermal power plants for making the state an electricity hub.
During the Meet, direct talks will be organised between Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and the investors. The highlight of the first day's agenda is a networking meeting. On January 16, an introductory programme will take place from 0900-1300 hrs. An Industrial Advisory Council meeting is scheduled for that afternoon.
MoU are to signed on the final day.
Hindustani vocalist Meeta Pandit will perform near the temple complex tomorrow while sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan will enthrall listeners the following day.
