Film stars donate for Telegu film industry Diamond Jubilee

Hyderabad, Jan 14 (UNI) A meeting of top producers, film artists, directors and writers today met at Annapurna Studios and decided to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of the Telegu film industry in a grand manner, scheduled to be held from January 26 to 28 in the city.

The three-day Diamond Jubilee celebrations were expected to cost over Rs six crore. Reacting to appeals by cine stalwarts like D Rama Naidu and K Raghavendar Rao and others, hero Chiranjeevi announced a donation of Rs 25 lakh. Immediately, heroes Nagarjuna and Balakrishna announced Rs ten lakh each. Young Director Puri Jagannadh announced a donation of Rs ten lakh, amidst applause from the film personalities.

Organisers said films stalwarts from Tamil Nadu, Tamil film Director K Balachandar and Hindi film Director Mahesh Bhatt had expressed thier disire to participate in the celebrations.

The Director Raghavendar Rao picturised a song for the concluding day, meaning that the entire film fraternity is a family. All the heroes and actors would participate in a song composed for the last day.

The noted Producer Allu Aravind announced that a time capsule would be set up and film personalities were requested to offer their suggestions as to how the film industry should be when it completes one hundred years.

Mr Chiranjeevi said, amid applause, that he wore everything he had, including the stardom, to mother film industry. He would have worked as a clerk in any office, but for the kindness bestowed on him by the the mother film industry, he added.
