Hyderabad, Jan 14 (UNI) The ruling Congress in Andhra Pradesh today postponed tomorrow's meeting of experts aimed at dispelling doubts of party legislators on the Pothireddypadu head regulator expansion project.

Pradesh Congress Committee President K Keshava Rao told reporters that the meeting would be held later this week.

The legislators expressed concern over taking the flood waters from river Krishna to Rayalaseema against the interests of Telangana and Coastal Andhra regions.

Maintaining that the interests of both the regions would not be affected at all, Mr Rao said more such meetings would be held till misapprehensions in the minds of people of other regions were removed.

It may be noted that the government's decision to expand the head regulator to take over 44,000 cusecs of flood waters from river Krishna to meet the irrigation needs of Rayalaseema and drinking water needs of Chennai, led to inter-state riparian row with legislators from coastal Andhra and Telangana, including some MLAs belonging to the ruling party, opposing it vehemently.
