Bangladesh assures safety to ULFA: BSF
Shillong, Jan 14 (UNI) Bangladesh government has assured insurgent leaders of full protection in their country, according to a senior BSF official.
''The Pakistan's Inter Service Intelligence (ISI) along with Bangladesh's Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) has instructed ULFA leaders to move out of that country after the polls process is completed,'' Inspector General of BSF in-charge Assam, Mehalaya, Manipur and Nagaland Frontier J Sinha told UNI here today Mr Sinha said ULFA leaders Paresh Baruah and Arabinda Rajkhowa were the captives of ISI and DGFI in Dhaka.
Meanwhile, the ULFA leaders have instructed cadres to carry on with their hit and run operations against Hindi-speaking community at the behest of these foreign forces inimical to India.
''Not only the ULFA leaders, but these foreign forces suggested militant leaders not move out of Bangladesh prior to polls,'' he asserted.
On the recent ULFA ghastly attacks in Upper Asom, Mr Sinha said, ''all these attacks were carried out by ULFA's 28th battalion based in Naga Myanmar Hills''.
''The movement of the ULFA cadres for the past months has been reduced a lot from Bangladesh via Meghalaya's and Asom's border with Bangladesh because of the foreign dictates,'' he said.
''Now, we should pay more attention to Myanmar Naga Hills to thwart these anti-India elements,'' the former National Security Council member observed.
The BSF has deployed four of its battalions in Asom to assist the army in the ongoing 'Operation Rhino-2' against the ULFA.
