Varanasi, Jan 14 (UNI) Highlighting the need for intensification of army operations in Asom after the massacre of 70 Hindi-speaking people, BJP president Rajnath Singh today said anti-ULFA army drive will be fruitful under President's rule.

Interacting with mediapersons here, Mr Singh said, ''if need arises, President's rule be imposed in Asom and then anti-ULFA army operations be intensified.'' Blaming the Congress government in the state for failing to take preventive measures to stop the massacre of innocent people from Bihar, Bengal and Uttar Pradesh, Mr Singh added the Tarun Gogoi government has failed to take cognisance of the ULFA mission to promote demographic distortion in Asom.

''I went to the Dibrugarh and Tinsukia region where at least 70 Hindi-speaking people have been massacred and found out that the state government has failed to take preventive measures,'' he maintained.

Training his guns on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's Muslim's first share in resources statements, Mr Singh alleged the PM through such statements is sowing the seeds of another partition of the nation on communal lines. ''We are not averse to special facilities to any section of society for their uplift, but will never tolerate division of national resources on communal lines in a secular India.'' Charging the UPA government with failing on all fronts, Mr Singh claimed that the people were now realising that they made a mistake by electing a non-performing UPA over a performing NDA.

Mr Singh also claimed that BJP along with allies will win Assembly polls in Manipur, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.

Later, addressing the 12th Bhaurao Deoras Seva Samman function, the former Union Minister criticised parties for practising the politics of vote banks for attaining power. He also reiterated BJP's commitment towards the ideology of Hindutva.
