All villages to be electrified in three years in Bihar
Darbhanga, Jan 14 (UNI) Union Energy Secretary R V Shahi today assured to electrify all villages in India within three years.
While inaugurating a Rs 250 crore power sub-station here, Mr Shahi told here that total six lakh villages in the country about 70,000, mostly in Bihar and Jharkhand, are yet to be electrified.
'' Under Rajiv Gandhi rural electrification programme, power sub-stations were being constructed in villages and Rs 111 crore has been released for Darbhanga district alone'' he added.
Mr Shahi also said Bihar had been provided with maximum fund under the programme and more funds would be made available to the state if required.
