7-day 'Lavnee' festival to be held in Kolhapur from Feb 5

Kolhapur, Jan 14 (UNI) A seven-day state-level 'Lavnee Mahostav' festival is slated to be held here from February five.

The festival is being organised since the last three years by the Lokmanch Charitable Trust in an effort to promote Maharashtrian folk dance 'Lavnee', trust president Mr Sunil Modi said.

Sixteen lavnee partys from Pune, Jejuri, Sanswadi and Chhaufhula will be seen in action during the festival, he disclosed.

Marathi film actresses Surekha Kudchee, Dipalee Sayad, lavnee rimix queen Rashmi Patil, lavnee artist Surekha Punekar and other prominent artists are slated to participate in the Mahostav, he added.
