15 youth arrested in Kashmir for manhandling policemen
Srinagar, Jan 14 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Police today arrested 15 youth from Chatergul in Anantnag district for allegedly manhandling its top officials, sources said.
They said the youth had allegedly manhandled police officials yesterday when a group of locals was protesting against the police and the wildlife department for what they termed as complete failure to save an eight-year-old girl, Rukaya Jan, from being killed by a leopard on Friday.
Senior police officials who visited the village yesterday to pacify the protesters were allegedly manhandled by the mob.
The sources said police today swung into action and arrested 15 youth in connection with the manhandling incident.
