Yahoo India Answers launches Ask The Planet series in India

Bangalore, Jan 13 (UNI) Yahoo India, the largest internet brand in the country, today launched a unique forum called 'Ask The Planet' on Yahoo India Answers to provide a platform to answer some of the most important questions faced today.

Prominent figures post questions on globally pressing issues for the collective knowledge of the Yahoo Answers community because they see Yahoo's tremendous world audience as a great way to build awareness for the causes that matter to them most, an Yahoo release here said.

The 'Ask the Planet' Series would continue for a period of six weeks, allowing users to answer a string of questions posed by Indian luminaries and achievers. The questions would be on varied subjects, including Education, Health, Law and Enforcement, Games and Recreation, Society and Culture, the release said.

The first question posted was by President A P J Abdul Kalam -- 'What should we do to free our planet from terrorism?' Answers to the question have come from leaders such as Kiran Bedi, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Leander Paes and Akum Longchari.

''In line with the objective of Yahoo Answers in creating a rich knowledge repository, the ATP Series will provide an innovative platform for the millions of Indians based on their real life experiences, to answer some of the biggest questions that touch our lives today,'' Yahoo India Managing Director George Zacharias said.

The All India School Outreach Program was part of the campaign and ten winning students would get the opportunity to visit Silicon Valley, the release said.
