Vadodara court registers complaint against Mallika Sherawat

Vadodara, Jan 13 (UNI) Baroda Bar Association (BBA) president Narendra Tiwari has registered a complaint in a city court against actress Mallika Sherawat for performing a vulgar dance during a new year eve programme in a Mumbai hotel.

Alleging that the programme staged at J W Marriot Hotel on the night of December 31, 2006, was an ''obscene and ugly act'', Mr Tiwari has pleaded action against the actress and the Hotel owner under section 8 of the Immoral Trafficking (Prevention) Act, and section 244 of IPC.

Judicial Magistrate (First Class) D B Vaidya, who heard the petitioner yesterday, will take up the matter again on January 15 for issue of court summons on Mallika and the hotel owner.
