UDF to hold dharna against price rise

Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 13 (UNI) The Opposition Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) in Kerala will organise a dharna in front of the State Secretariat here on January 16 in protest against the rise in the prices of essential commodities, breakdown of law and order and crisis in the agricultural sector.

In a release here, UDF Convener P P Thankachan said Leader of the Opposition Oommen Chandy would inaugurate the dharna in which KPCC President Ramesh Chennithala and leaders of other front constituents would address.

He said the Left Democratic Front Government should take immediate steps to arrest price hike and solve the crisis in the agricultural sector. Urgent steps were also needed to save the state from the break down of law and order.
