Two CRPF personnel among seven injured in Srinagar blast

Srinagar, Jan 13 (UNI) Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel and two labourers from Bihar were among seven people injured in two different grenade blasts in the city this evening.

A CRPF spokesman told UNI that militants hurled a hand grenade at a CRPF party on Boulevard road on the bank of Dal Lake.

He said two CRPF personnel received splinter wounds in the blast.

The area has been cordoned off and a search operation launched to nab the militants.

This was the first such attack in the area after 25 tourists were injured in two grenade blasts last summer.

Official sources said militants also hurled a hand grenade of a CRPF picket in Qamarwari on Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road this evening. However, it missed the target and exploded on the roadside causing injuries to five people, including two labourers froM Bihar.

The injured were admitted at different hospitals.
