Three injured as engine and bogies of goods train derail

Latehar (Jharkhand), Jan 12 (UNI) Three railway employees were injured when an engine and three bogies of a coal-laden goods train fell into a river near Hehegada railway station in this distict today.

Railway traffic on the route was disrupted following the accident that ocurred at 1545 hrs.

The goods train was on its way to Panipat in Hariyana from Rai station in Hazaibagh, railway official said, adding the engine and three other bogies including the guard's bogy fell into Kasba river.

Station manager of nearby Barkakanna railway station T Murmu said engine driver U K Singh, assistant driver Sarvesh Kumar and guard U K Pandey were injured in the accident.

The water level of the river was shallow, the sources said.

Senior railway officials with the rescue team had rushed to the spot.
