Sterlite Industries Q3FY07 net at Rs 214.29cr

New Delhi, Jan 13 (UNI) Copper producer Sterlite Industries India today reported a net profit of Rs 214.79 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2006 where as the same was Rs 150.24 crore during the same period a year ago.

Total Income (net of excise) stood at Rs 3,219.86 crore during the third quarter of FY07. The same was reported at Rs 2,178.43 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2005.

The previous period/ year figures have been regrouped wherever necessary. On account of sale of the company's power transmission line division with effect from July 1, 2006, figures for the current period were not comparable to figures for the previous period, the company stated in a statement.

The company's consolidated net profit after tax during Q3FY07 went up at Rs 1,293.01 crore where as the same was Rs 395.03 crore during Q3FY06.

The total income attributable to the group was Rs 7,000.73 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2006 where as the same was at Rs 3,570.72 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2005.
