Six people injured in gas pipeline explosion
Kolkata, Jan 13 (UNI) At least six people were injured when a portion of an underground gas pipeline of the Greater Calcutta Gas Supply burst at Tala area early today.
Police said the pipeline exploded and the pieces hit the passers by. They were immediately rushed to the nearby R G Kar Medical Hospital but were released after being given first aid. However, there was no cause for panic, police added.
Sources said the cause of the explosion was not yet ascertained.
GCGS officials rushed to the site and plugged the leak. Police has been deployed in the area.
