Shahu co-op sugar factory founder chairman retains power in factory
Kolhapur, Jan 13 (UNI) A panel led by Vikramsinh Ghatge, founder chairman of the Chhatrapati Shahu co-operative sugar factory, Kagal of this district won the board of directors election and retained the power in the factory.
Polling was held on January 11 and the result came in yesterday. There were 32 candidates in the fray and Mr Ghatge led the 15 members who were declared elected with huge margin votes.
Sugar factory, which was recently registered under multi-state co-operative act, was known for unopposed election in the district except 1996 elections. This time it went to polls as rival group led by Sanjay Ghatge put up the candidates from his panel in the fray.
However, Sanjay Ghatge panel failed to won any seat.
