Pondy mulls means to check ''baby stealers''

Puducherry, Jan 13 (UNI) The administration is taking steps to prevent abduction of new born babies from the government maternity hospital here.

According to offical sources, the move follows a case in which a baby stolen two days ago.

Following this, the officials decided to provide fluorscent tags to both the mother and the baby Any mother or baby coming out of the hospital will have to pass a special enclosure where a scanner would be erected in the next one week.

An alarm would go off if the tags of the mother and the baby did not match.
