Hyderabad, Jan 13 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narender Modi will launch the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) ''Jana Jagran Abhiyan'' campaign in Andhra Pradesh on January 27 from Nellore to protest against the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government's alleged minority appeasement and other ''anti-people'' policies.

Talking to reporters here today, State BJP spokespersons T Rajeswara Rao, K Balakondaiah and N Ramachander Rao said the party would stage dharnas, traffic blockades and picket government offices to protest against the delay in the execution of Parliament attack case convict Afzal Guru.

Party's youth wing would collect one crore signatures from the public to register its protest against the government's policies, while the party's women's wing will organise human chains in protest against the government's ''soft policy'' towards the terrorists, they said.

The party welcomed the Supreme Court judgement dismissing Afzal's plea seeking a review of his death sentence.

Expressing concern over the rise in religious conversions in the state, BJP State Secretary P Jhansi Rani alleged that certain missionaries in the name of running non-governmental organisations (NGOs) were getting funds from within and outside the country for the purpose.

She urged the Centre and the state governments to step up vigil and monitor such organisations.
