Mulky Rafique accused in Shetty's murder escapes from police
Mangalore, Jan 13 (UNI) Mulky Rafique, the main accused in the murder of Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sukhananda Shetty and Polali Ananthu murder escaped from the police while he was taken back to Mysore Jail from here last night.
Rafique, while being taken back to Mysore after producing before the Court for extension of Policy custody, escaped by jumping from the Jeep and escaped.
Rafique and his wife Johara from Tamil Nadu were December 29-2006 and had been in police custody and after expire of the custody he was taken to Mangalore.
District Superintendent of Police B Dayanand who rushed to the spot has taken up intense search to nab Rafique.
Rafique, who was the main accused in Polali Ananthu murder case on June Five, 2005, was also accused of taking supari in the murder of BJP leader Sukhananda Shetty at Kulai on December One 2006.
