Headmaster locked up for allowing political party to hold meeting

Midnapore, Jan 13 (UNI) Angry students and guardians of Kandapasra primary school under Venkita gram panchayat in Nandigram, today locked up the headmaster, for closing the institution without prior notice and allowing the CPI to hold a meeting in the school premises.

Police here said students and guardians got agitated when they were asked to go back home due to the CPI's meeting which was attended by party state secretary Manjukumar Majumder and MP Prabodh Panda.

The students demanding that the institution should remain free of any politics locked up headmaster Swadesh Ranjan Maity. The party leaders had no option but to leave the premise when the situation went out of control, police said.
