Haryana to promote use of CFL bulbs
Chandigarh, Jan 13: Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited(DHBVN) will work with manufacturers of CFL bulbs to provide thesebulbs at the subsided rate to its consumers, as a part of the drive toconserve energy.
A DHBVN spokesman said the Nigam had invited tenders from themanufacturers of CFL bulbs from all over India, adding that these CFLmanufacturers had proposed a scheme under which one CFL bulb would beprovided free on purchase of one.
The Nigam had, therefore, ensured that the concerned companiesagree to provide CFL bulbs at half the rates. This way the consumerwould have to pay half the price for one CFL bulb.
Under this scheme, a 11 watt, 15 watt and 20 watt CFL bulb wouldbe provided at the cost of Rs 67.50, Rs 75 and Rs 100 respectively forthe consumers.
Wowever, a T-8-36 watt of tube would cost Rs 32 only. CFLmanufacturers could put their sale outlets at all customer care centresof DHBVN situated at Faridabad, Gurgaon, Narnaul, Bhiwani, Hisar andSirsa.
He said a written agreement had been signed by DHBVN for this scheme with Indo Asian Company, which would be valid for an year.
