Don't change procurement rule for SC and ST entrepreneurs: Digvijay

Bhopal, Jan 13 (UNI) Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh has urged Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to not change the rule providing for 30 per cent of the government purchase from entrepreneurs of SC and ST community.

In a letter to Mr Chouhan, Mr Singh said the decision to procure 30 per cent of the government purchase was taken during the Congress rule for the uplift of SC and ST community entrepreneurs.

The copies of the letter were released to the media today.

He said the present government has amended the rule providing that 30 per cent purchased would be made from those entrepreneurs producing items concerned.

Mr Singh asked the Chief Minister to keep in view the concerns of social and economic welfare of people from this community and continue the previous rule.
