Two cops arrested for murdering their colleague

Shillong, Jan 12 (UNI) Meghalaya police have arrested two constables in connection with the murder of another constable of the fourth battalion yesterday.

Police today said they have arrested constables Benedict Sherkon and Robinshai Jalong for their alleged involvement in killing their colleague Jefferson Momin.

Momin was shot dead at Shahlang in state's West Khasi Hills district.

Sources said all the three were in inebriated condition while the incident occurred.

Meanwhile, police officials here have claimed that the incident was an accident.

However, an enquiry has been ordered into the whole matter.
