Three impostors nabbed in Nawanshahr
Jalandhar, Jan 12: The Vigilance sleuths arrested three impostors who used to cheat people impersonating as vigilance officers.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (Vigilance) NS Dhillon told reporters here yesterday that accused Gaurav Gupta, Kuldip Singh and Hardev Singh were arrested from Nawanshahr for cheating Rs 20,000 from a Jalandhar Municipal Corporation(JMC) junior engineer on the pretext of closing vigilance inquiry against him. The trio met the JMC personnel posing themselves as vigilance officers.
While Gaurav Gupta posed himself as vigilance SP the two other accused posed themselves as Dy SP and Inspector, Mr Dhillon said.
They had also accepted to cheat some other persons in a similar manner, Mr Dhillon added.
