Tata Indicom brings"eMpower"technology,targets Rs5,000 cr business

Kolkata, Jan 12 (UNI) Tata Indicom, which had recently introduced "emPower", the latest global trend in wireless technology through a highly evolved CDMA platform, targets to reach the business volume of Rs 5,000 crore by 2009.

Speaking to newsmen after bringing the new technology to the city this evening, Tata Indicom Vice-President and Head Enterprise Business Group Uttam Soni said eMpower would not only help conduct business in many places at once and simultaneoulsy, but would also deal with several technical solutions like wireless e mail, remote network access, vehicle tracking system, telmetry, SMS Gateway and Transaction soluitions.

" These solutions would help increase effciency,minimised tampering and narrowing distance to make and feel that the world is a small place, " Mr Soni observed.

Asked about their business target, he said since the launch of the All India operations in August last year,'eMpower' had been largely accepted by the business comunity not only in the large corporate sector but also in the emerging SME sector with the volume of business crossing the Rs 600 crores mark be December last year.

" So far we are actively promoting eMpower in eight major cities and decided to make a pan India presence before the end of the current fiscal, " Mr Soni said replying to a query.

Among others Tata Teleservices Chief Operating Officer Abhijit Pal was present on the occasion.
