Scrap dealer nabbed with Army's spent ammo

Sagar, MP, Jan 12 (UNI) More than 600 empty casings of Army mortar bombs, 84 kg of spent cartridges and other material was seized by the police from a scrap dealer who was arrested today in this divisional headquarters.

Assistance is being sought from Army experts in the investigation as the Mahar Regimental Centre is located at Sagar.

The police said that a boy was killed and four injured following a bomb blast at a scrap shop on January 8. Prabhudayal Gupta was apprehended, about 200 kg of casings seized and a case of theft registered. Senior Army officers claimed that the bombs, employed during training, were not used at Sagar and suspected that they could have belonged to Uttar Pradesh's Babina Cantonment.
