Sainik School in Nagaland and Mizoram soon- Raju

Bhubaneswar, Jan 12 (UNI) Minister of State for Defence M M Pallam Raju said a new Sainik school will be established in Nagaland on April 1 while another will be set up soon at Mizoram.

Addressing an assembly of students of Bhubaneswar Sainik School here last evening, Mr Raju said defence forces must be equipped with latest information technologies to have an edge over others since information technology has been playing a major role in every aspects of human life.

The Minister said India's defence forces need to be more modernised to meet the challenges and at the same time require young talented people who could help in developing modern war weapons.

Describing India as the land of economic opportunities, Mr Raju said a large number of multi-national companies were now coming to India as the country had plenty of young and talented people.

Expressing his satisfaction over the learning process in Sainik Schools, he called upon faculty member to prepare students for challenges from modern technology. ''They must take care to improve the communication skills and team spirits of the student as they would be potential leaders of our armed forces,'' he said.

The Minister laid wreath on the Martyr's Memorial at Sainik School and visited the facilities available at the school besides the art gallery. He also inaugurated a mini-conference hall and basketball court.
