Pondy asks people not to burn old articles on Bhogi

Puducherry, Jan 12 (UNI) The Puducherry Municipality today urged people not to burn old articles during Bhogi.

In a release here, Municipal Commissioner Sooriyanarayanamurty said burning plastic and tyre would lead to contracting diseases such as cancer. He sought public cooperation to keep the enviornment clean.

He said old articles should be kept in a carry bag and placed in front of the houses for removal by municipal staff.
