Officials deny reports on satellite city project in TN

Coimbatore, Jan 12 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Housing Board (TNHB) and the District Administration have denied reports on the implementation of a satellite city project at Vellalore and Chettipalayam on the outskirts of the city.

In a press conference here last night, TNHB Managing Director M Rajaram and District Collector Neeraj Mittal said no such project was being implemented anywhere in the city or in the state.

Referring to Former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's statement, Mr Rajaram denied any move to acquire agricultural land for any project.

On the demolition drive in the city against commercial buildings, Mr Mittal said the action was directed only at those structures which suffered deviation from planning rules.
