Nine injured as shops gutted
Hazaribagh, Jan 12 (UNI) Nine persons were injured, two of them seriously, in a fire that razed a shop in this district of Jharkhand today.
The two seriously injured were rushed to Ranchi, the state capital.
Police said the shop that mainly retails paints and other inflammable materials, caught fire in the wee hours.
The damage caused by the fire was estimated at about Rs one- and-half crore.
Five fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the fire.
Nine persons who were helping contain the fire received burn injuries.
The rest seven injured were admitted to local hospital here.
Senior officials and police were present at the incident.
