New City Police Commissioner takes charge

Hyderabad, Jan 12 (UNI) The newly appointed City Police Commissioner Balwinder Singh today assumed charges at the Commissioner's Office.

Mr Singh, on central deputation, took charge from the outgoing Police Commisisoner A K Mahanty.

Later, speaking to newspersons here, Mr Singh said he would concentrate on solving the traffic problems in the busy city and strive to root out the land mafia problems.

He would follow the same policies the previous Commissioners had adopted for solving the extremist problems, he added.

Mr Singh had served as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) here, a few years ago.
