Man, daughter arrested for killing son

Davangere, Karnataka, Jan 12 (UNI) Police today arrested a man and his daughter on the charge of setting afire his son, here four days ago.

Superintendent of Police Sonia Narang said today that one Nataraj (24), an unemployed and a cricket player, died last night after he was doused with kerosene and set on fire by his father Nanjundappa and sister Asha while he was asleep on Monday. Nataraj succumbed to burn injuries after battling for life for three days at the District Hospital last night.

Nanjundappa, a painter by profession, was irked with his son wasting time playing cricket and not earning for the family, she said.

Both the arrested have been remanded to judicial custody.
