Krishi Mela at Suttur from Jan 16

Mysore, Jan 12 (UNI) A five-day Krishi Mela of the JSS Agricultural Sciences Centre will be held at Suttur village on the eve of the Sri Shivarathri Shivyogi Jathara festival, commencing from January 16.

Speaking to newspersons at Suttur village, near here, JSS Mahavidyapeetha Spokesperson H Gangadharan said more than 60 stalls would be put up as part of the Krishi Mela out of the total 250 stalls in the exhibition as part of the festival.

Seminars and demonstrations to provide awareness to farmers on the new system of agricultural methods, new crop pattern, optimum usage of water and horticultural crops would be organised during the mela. Hundreds of farmers from all over the State would participate in the mela, he said.

Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, his Deputy B S Yediyurappa, Leader of the Opposition in Parliament L K Advani, Union Ministers and State Ministers were expected to participate in various programmes on the occasion, he added.
