Khatushyam remains shut for fifth day
Sikar, Jan 12 (UNI) The holy town of Khatushyamji, famous for its Khatushyamji temple, observed a bandh for the fifth consecutive day today to protest the expansion drive being undertaken by the temple trust.
Independent MLA Rajkumar Rinwa, who protested against the bulldozing of his relative Madan pujari's sweet shop in the area, was roughed up and arrested by the police. At least 27 others were arrested along with Khatu sarpanch Asha devi, who happens to be late Madan Pujari's wife. He was later released.
The state government has formed a three-member committee comprising Parliamentary Affairs minister Rajendra Singh Rathore, agriculture minister Surendra Pal Singh Titi and secretary of Public Grievance Cell S N Gupta, to investigate the matter.
All shops and commercial establishments remained closed today.
