Kavveri Telecom acquires Til-Tek of Canada

Bangalore, Jan 12; Kavveri Telecom Products Ltd, a major player in manufacture of Antennas, Radio Frequency (RF) and Solar products for the wireless industry today announced acquisition of Canadian technology company Til-Tek Inc in a bid to make a foray into the North American market.

''Til-Tek produces high quality antenna products for base stations of GSM/CDMA, WiFi and WiMAX for over two decades and the acquisition will give us the platform to access to North American markets. We will also market Til-Tek products in India,'' Kavveri Telecom Managing Director C Shivakumar Reddy told newsmen here.

He said Til-Tek, a former WiLan company, had made a turnaround after years of losses to achieve a total revenue of five million dollars last year.

Kavveri Telecom, with a turnover of Rs 36 crore last year, had a host of multinational clients in India such as Motorola, Ericsson, Nokia, Nortel, ZTE, Hutch, Reliance and BSNL. It also supplied high tech antennas to ISRO and other defence and space segment organisations and ONGC, while Til-Tek had a clientele that included Canada's biggest GSM operator Rogers and a WiMAX MAJOR NextNet.
