Kashmir Gov greets people on Lohri

Jammu, Jan 12 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Governor Lt Gen (Rtd) S K Sinha today greeted people on the eve of Lohri - the festival of bonfire - and Makar Sankranti, marking the end of winter.

''The lighting of bonfires on Lohri denotes not only the onset of more comfortable days ahead but also the richness and continuity of the state's unique heritage that has withstood the test of times,'' he said in a message.

Terming the festival a harbinger of early spring, he wished the people peace, happiness and prosperity.
