Industrial output rises to a robust 14.4 pct in Nov '06

New Delhi, Jan 12 (UNI) Strong manufacturing performance lifted the country's industrial output to 14.4 per cent in November 2006 on a year-on-year basis, official figures here showed.

The manufacturing sector, which constitutes more than 75 per cent of the industrial output, was up 15.7 per cent from November 2005, against a provisional 6.0 per cent growth in October 2006, data released by Central Statistical Organisation shows.

Industrial output for October was revised down to 4.4 per cent from the provisional figure of 6.2 per cent.

During April-November, output rose 10.6 per cent from the same period a year earlier.
