Hero Honda campus rock idol begins in Meghalaya

Shillong, Jan 12 (UNI) India's largest inter-college rock music competition, 'Hero Honda Campus Rock Idols' is all set for tomorrow's competition of amateur bands at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium here.

The competition offers an ultimate experience for bands to perform on a professional, technical and evolved production offering.

Hero Honda, keeping in mind the appeal of music with the youth, continues to communicate their brands through this unique initiative. Hero Honda Motors Limited vice-president Sales&Marketing Anil Dua said, ''Music is one of the important platform through which we connect with the youth.'' Hero Honda, was closely associated with events like Zee TVs 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa,' to promote music and budding musicians.

The regional event will commence on January 13 in Shillong followed by Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Manipal, Indore, Chandigarh, Delhi, Ahmedabad and Pune respectively.

The South Zone comprises of Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Manipal for the music fest while the West Zone encompasses Pune, Mumbai and Ahmedabad.

Indore, Delhi and Chandigarh form the cities in the North Zone and In the East Zone, the event will be organised in Kolkata and Shillong.

Compared to the previous year where 300 bands participated, 350 bands are expected to participate in Campus Rock Idols 2007.

The finals will be held in Pune.
