HC gives 2 months to Hindujas to vacate premises
New Delhi, Jan 12 (UNI) The Delhi High Court today granted two months to NRI industrialist Hinduja brothers-owned IndusInd Media and Communication Ltd, operating a Conditional Access System(CAS) network in the Capital, to vacate the premises, which was sealed by the Municipal authorities yesterday.
A division bench of Chief Justice M K Sharma and Justice Rekha Sharma said the Multi-System Operator(MSO) must vacate the premises in Shivaji Marg West Delhi in two months as the premises were illegal.
The Mumbai-based IndusInd Media and Communication Ltd(IMCL) had started its operation from 71/1 and 71/2 of Shivaji Marg owned by Raj Kumar, Ravi Kumar Duggal and Joginder after CAS was notified in the Capital last month.
Senior Counsel Abhishek Manu Singhvi appearing for the IMCL submitted that due to sealing of the premises more than one third of the subscribers of CAS in the Capital were affected.
The Court directed the company to vacate the premises and hand over the keys to the MCD Deputy Commissioner at the end of the second month.
