HC closes petition seeking CBI probe into seizure of CDs

Kochi, Jan 12 (UNI) A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court today closed the writ petition filed by R S Pradeep Kumar of Kochi seeking a CBI probe into the seizure of film CDs from the Riyan Studio owned by the wife of an IPS officer.

The petitioner sought the CBI probe as he apprended that the studio owner is likely to get away as she is the wife of an IPS officer in the rank of Inspector-General.

Director-General of Prosecution P G Thampi submitted that investigation was in the right track and the case would be entrusted to an officer senior than that of IG Tomin Thachankari, husband of the studio owner.

In the light the submission, the Division Bench closed the petition.
