Fresh strategy to speed up MP's development

Bhopal, Jan 12 (UNI) A fresh strategy will be adopted to speed up Madhya Pradesh's development with the formation of ''Teams Madhya Pradesh,'' Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said today.

''After comprehensive deliberation during 'Manthan 2007', a two-day event that gets underway tomorrow at the RCVP Noronha Academy of Administration and Management, the teams will be constituted informally,'' he told reporters at the Mantralaya here.

The event will witness participation by ministers, principal secretaries and secretary-level officers besides senior bureaucrats from the divisions and districts.

''A model will be prepared with the twin objectives of removing hurdles in the path of development and implementation of government schemes besides simplifying and speeding up the process,'' Mr Chouhan explained.

On January 14, he would be briefed on the event's conclusions and also offer his suggestions. Any official, desirous of personally interacting with the Chief Minister, would be welcomed.

Seven groups were formed and each consists of three to four ministers each besides bureaucrats, Principal secretary-level officers would coordinate.

''The Governance Group includes the General Administration, Revenue, Panchayat, Finance, Planning and Public Grievances Redressal departments while the State Security Group include Home, Law and Legislative Affairs and Jails,'' Mr Chouhan added.

The Livelihood Group has under its umbrella the Rural Development, Agriculture, Cooperatives, Horticulture, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, Village Industry, Forests and Food and Civil Supplies departments.

The First Infrastructure Group include the Public Works, Water Resources, Narmada Valley Development, Rural Development and Public Health Engineering departments while the Second Infrastructure Group include the Power, Urban Administration and Development, Tourism, Environment and Housing, Information Technology, Commerce, Industry and Employment departments.

Likewise, the Social Sector Group has under its umbrella the Public Health and Family Welfare, Medical Education, Woman and Child Development, Social Justice, Tribal and Scheduled Castes Welfare, Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare, Transport and Labour departments while the Education Group included School Education, Higher Education and Technical Education.
